How to reach Chhattisgarh

How to get there by Air

Chhattisgarh has a domestic airport, which is linked, to almost all major airports in the country. Indian Airlines operates regular flights to and from Raipur.
Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, is the only place in the state that is linked by air to New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Nagpur (Maharashtra) by regular flights.

Taking the aerial route to Raipur is the most favored and hassle-free way of the traveling to Raipur. There are a number of flights that connect Raipur to the other major cities. You can access Raipur from Delhi, Bhubaneshwar, Bhopal and Jabalpur.

How to get there by Rail

Two major railway stations in Chhattisgarh- Raipur and Bilaspur- connect the major railway stations in India. Since Raipur comes almost in the middle point between Mumbai and Howrah, two most important railway stations in west and east India respectively, it is served by important trains regularly.

Certainly the best way to get to Chhattisgarh from anywhere in India is by the enormous network of Indian Railways. The superfast Rajdhani Express connects Bilaspur and Raipur to New Delhi, the Bilaspur-Amritsar Chhattisgarh Express links Amritsar and the biweekly Cochin-Bilaspur connects the southernmost state of India to Chhattisgarh. The Bilaspur-Nizamuddin Gondwana Express runs thrice a week and travels from New Delhi to Bilaspur and Raipur.

How to get there by Road

Road-network in Chhattisgarh is excellent. The NH 6, NH 16 and NH 43 are the national highways that connect all the major cities and towns of Chhattisgarh to other parts of the country.

Happily situated in the middle of the Indian subcontinent, Chhattisgarh is fortunate to be well connected by road to its neighbouring states as well as the important cities of the region. Inter-state and national highways connect Raipur to Bhopal, Nagpur, Jhansi, Jabalpur and to cities further afield like Kolkata and Bhubhaneshwar. Interstate State Roadways buses ply between different cities while chartered bus operators run services on the major routes. Rented chauffeur driven cabs and MUVs can be hired from travel agents but car rental companies as such may be hard to find.
